Step 5. Use a Torx tool head or an Allen wrench to turn the screws. Keep an eye on the marks and adjust until the trajectory hits the mark. You want the low beam to be within a 2-inch variance and the high beam to center on the mark. Adjust each headlight individually. Ford recommends you take your Ford Focus to an authorized service station
Because the projector inside the headlight is constantly moving the wires tend to break, causing issues like this and in the end it fails completely. Check the wires connected to the the switch board of the projector. Seeing you are from the Netherlands, there is also a topic on this issue on Focusclub.nl with pictures of the issue.
Received 7 Likes on 2 Posts. Warning!!! Headlight Adjustment. Guys if your doing lifts or level kits and want to adjust your LED headlights down be very careful or have dealer do it. I tried adjusting the drivers side and the plastic gears stripped on the headlight assembly. It now spends freely and does not move the headlight. step 1 :Servicing the Headlight Bulbs. 0:35. Disconnect the headlight wiring harnesses. Twist the signal light bulb socket counterclockwise out the light. Twist the signal light bulb clockwise into the light. Pull off the headlight bulb cover. Disconnect the headlight bulb wiring harness. Twist off the locking ring. Stoney871. Counter-clockwise or clockwise depending on which side then unhook the ball end of the plastic pin from the socket on the reflector lens bracket. Best practice is to have the adjuster wheel set to 0 before removal but a bit moot unless the light you're removing it from has failed at it's lowest position.
Mark the centre line of car (ford badge) mark the centre of each head lights bulb (same distance from centre line and each same distance off the floor) Drive straight back about 7/8 metres, if you have a clean cut off for your lights that the kick up to the left must start no further then the centre point of the light or slightly to the left
