So sorry to hear of the problems. My 2013 is a 320i so it has a nearly identical engine as a 328i, just a few parts different. Oil consumption is not measurable. I presume it's less than 1/2 quart every 7500 miles. I don't need to add oil before the oil is changed. Bimmerfest is a wealth of information!
My 2007 X3 makes about the same sound when it's still cold, but only for about 10-15 minutes. After that it purrs smooth, puts my 2012 328i to shame. The injector is a issue BMW is seeing on the N20 engine. The oil level issue is most likely related to the oil level sensor causing a problem. Keep in touch on what they do for a repair.
